About the Salient Achievements of the Department:   This department so far completed five externally funded and three internally funded research projects viz. ,on Yak and Mithun, Ontogenic development on immune organs of indigenous piglets, trace element of hair follicles and wild animals like Elephant, Tiger, Deer etc. Further, the department puts expert comments on many Forensic cases and on the specimen sent by the Forest Departments of Assam and Maghalaya. The department also helped P.G. students of Guwahati Medical College and Gauhati University.
