About the Salient Achievements of the Department:   Bioinformatics Centre, Gurucharan College, Silchar was sanctioned in Feb 2008 under the BIF financial assistance of Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The mandate of the centre is to provide infrastructural facility for utilization of Bioinformatics for understanding, study and development in Biological sciences. The Centre is continuously trying to develop its academic and research facility from its establishment. The Centre is also doing its best to incite awareness among the students & researchers and trying to spread the message of application of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology to the grassroots levels. Bioinformatics Centre of Gurucharan College, Silchar is providing DeLCON e-journal search, database search and retrieval and other basic facilities for undergraduate Students, Research scholars and Teachers. The centre also holds a good collection of latest books in the field of Bioinformatics, Genomics and Proteomics, Medical Microbiology, Evolution, programming languages and others.
